20 Mule Team Borax Review & Giveaway

Recently, as a Purex Insider I was sent a box of 20 Mule Team Borax, to try out and give a review. Before I give my review, here's a few fun facts about this product.

*20 Mule Team Borax is perfect for hard water problems because it naturally softens hard water and protects your detergents--maximizing its cleaning power.
Did you know that more than 85% of homes have hard water (hard water is defined as water containing calcium and magnesium? Borax helps to soften the water.

*Borax is a 100% natural mineral from the earth. It’s the common name for sodium tetraborate, a naturally-occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.

*20 Mule Team Borax comes from California where one of the world’s largest deposits was discovered in 1913.

*You can use Borax to make your own laundry soap!

*Absolutely nothing is added. No phosphates, per-oxside, chlorine, or other additive chemicals. Borax  increases your detergent’s power and controls odors to give you fresh, clean laundry.

*Borax is also safe for your pets and septic system.

*To use, simply add 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax to every load along with your regular detergent.

I was eager to test the Borax in my new HE washing machine. We bought it in November and it arrived the first week in December. Now, I've been on the fence about this new washing machine with no agitator, and it's very low usage of water. I've had this feeling that my whites haven't been getting as clean as they used to, when compared with my old washing machine.

I didn't add the recommended 1/2 cup of Borax, but only about 1/4th or a little less. I sprinkled the Borax on top of the clothes, added my regular detergent, and then let my new washer and the Borax do it's magic.

Unloading the dryer to say the least, was a real treat. My husbands white work socks, were back to being just that, white! Before Borax, there had been some dull gray spots left behind on his socks. Everything in that load in fact, came out just as clean and white. Very nice indeed.

Next I tested  Borax in the bathroom. I filled a bucket, oh about half way or so, and poured in a 1/2 cup of Borax. When I was through cleaning the sinks, toilet, ect, I used the rest of the Borax mixture to mop the floor. Again, I was impressed at the results of using the Borax. My bathroom looked so clean, and because Borax helps to take away odors, it not only looked clean, but smelled clean too.

After researching 20 Mule Team Borax, I found that there are so many more uses for it. You can use it in your dishwasher, use it to clean your carpets, use it on pet bedding and other pet uses, arts and crafts, and the list goes on and on!

For this review, I give 20 Mule Team Borax an A+ and a space on my next shopping list!

*  Sponsor provided the product reviewed, and my opinions, as always, are my own.

I'd use the Borax to make my own laundry detergent. It's also supposed to be good for killing chickweek in your lawn but won't harm the grass.
